Using a Registry Cleaner
1. Download and install CCleaner free.
2. Launch your program after it has installed, and click the 'Registry' button on the left panel.

3. Click 'Scan for issues.' CCleaner will scan the registry for missing leftover entry values, missing shared dll files and unused files extensions.
4. Click 'Fix selected issues' when the scan is complete and errors have been detected. Click 'Yes' to back up and save the registry. Click 'Fix all selected issues' and click 'OK' to removed unnecessary entries and restore missing files.
Tips to Help Prevent Registry Errors.
5. Follow the corrects steps to uninstall programs you no longer want on your computer. This may vary depending on the program. Some programs can be uninstalled from the control panel, and others have to use an uninstaller.
6. Run virus scans at least once a week to remove malicious parasites from the registry. If you do not have an antivirus program, download and install AVG Antivirus free.
7. Do not download and install programs or games from malicious websites such as Warez websites. Most downloads from these type of websites include Trojan horses (Trojans) that cause registry errors.
8. Do not download attachments from emails that look questionable. They could contain worm parasites that cause registry errors and damage system files.
