How to fix 'Auto Config Please Wait' Error

Off

1. Close any games that you've been playing on your computer. The 'Auto Config Please Wait' error tends to pop up when full screen games are being played. To get around this error, change the settings of your games so the screen size is smaller. This can often be done by navigating to the options or settings section of a game.
2. Change your screen resolution by right-clicking on your desktop, selecting 'Properties,' then 'Display Settings.' The resolution size you choose doesn't matter. Changing the screen size sometimes resets the settings and fixes the 'Auto Config Please Wait' error.

3. Check the cord that connects your computer monitor to the back of your computer tower. A loose, ripped or old cord could cause the 'Auto Config Please Wait' error. Try connecting the cord to another computer and see if you get the same error. If you do, it's time to buy a new cord.
4. Download updates for your computer monitor. Outdated drivers can also cause the 'Auto Config Please Wait' error to pop up. If you don't know the brand of your monitor, check the sticker on the back. It will list the model and brand. Then, go to that brand's website and download any drivers you are missing.
5. Connect your computer monitor to a spare computer and see if the 'Auto Config Please Wait' error still pops up. If so, it's a problem with the monitor.
6. Turn off your computer and disconnect all the wires from the tower. Open your computer by twisting off the screws and sliding off the side. Locate the graphics card. It will be a red or green card, several inches long, that is screwed into your computer. Sometimes this card comes loose and causes the 'Auto Config Please Wait' error. Press down gently but firmly on the graphics card. Press only hard enough to make sure the card hasn't come loose.
7. Hook everything back up to your computer and see if the error persists. If it does, you'll need to replace your graphics card. The kind of graphics card you'll need will depend on your computer type, so note your computer model number. This information can be found on the back of the tower.

How to Fix Appcrash Errors on a Computer

Off

1. Delete any new programs that you have downloaded. Often, the cause of corruption in a computer system is a bad download that installs harmful files. If you started to get the Appcrash error on your system after downloading a new program or software from the Internet, it’s highly likely you have downloaded a bad product. Use the “Add/Remove Programs” feature in the Control Panel to get rid of the program immediately.
2. Uninstall the program that is crashing. It is possible to fix the program’s corrupted files while the program is still installed, but to make sure that you clear the program files completely, it is safest to completely uninstall it from the system.

3. Run a full scan of your computer. Your computer should already have antivirus software installed that can scan for corrupted files and either fix them or delete them from your system. If you do not have antivirus software on your computer, that could be a big part of the problem. Purchase and install antivirus software as soon as possible. Once you have the antivirus program installed, open it and click “Scan Computer.” The antivirus scan will isolate bad files and you will be given the option to remove them from your system.
4. Reinstall the program that was crashing. Now that the corrupted files have all been removed, your program should run smoothly after reinstallation.
5. Check for program incompatibility. If, after a thorough scan and cleaning of your computer and reinstallation of your program, the Appcrash errors continue, the program you are trying to use may not be compatible with your operating system or other programs on your computer.

How to Fix Errors in Programs

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 Off

Syntax Error
1. Open the program’s source code.
2. Compile and run the program. Compilation is a process of translating the program into machine language. When syntax errors are found, the program will stop running and highlights the section of the code with the error.

3. Locate where the error occurs. If your program has thousands of lines of code, you can have more than one syntax error to fix.
4. Correct the error by replacing the incorrect “word” or “text” to conform to the grammar rules of the programming language you use. For example if a VB6 program highlighted the word “lblName.cption,” change the text to “lblName.Caption.”
5. Correct the rest of the errors found in other sections of the program code.
6. Save the changes you made by clicking the “Save” button from the toolbar or pressing “Ctrl S” from the keyboard.
Logical or Semantic Error
7. Run the program. Logical errors usually occur during calculation of values. For example, a program that computes the age of a person by inputting a birth date and comparing it to current date may produce a wrong result if the algorithm is written inaccurately.
8. Input sample values to the entry fields in the program interface. Click the button that triggers the calculation of values.
9. Check the accuracy of the results. Since logical errors are hard to catch because a program may still run without interruption, it is vital that the programmer pays close attention to how he manipulates the data through the code he writes.
10. Correct the algorithm or formula in the source code.
11. Compile and run the program. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make sure the error is fixed. Save the changes you made by clicking “Save” button from the toolbar or pressing “Ctrl S” from the keyboard.
Run Time Error
12. Run the program and use its features as a user would. For example, in a data entry program, you may input values to fields and save the information into a database. Providing a wrong data type for an input, such as typing a “date” value into a “text” field may trigger a run time error.
13. Identify the type of error that shows up. Usually, run time errors have corresponding number associated with it so a programmer can find other sources of information about the error to fix it.
14. Rewrite the code to fix the problem. In the example in Step 1, you can prevent that particular run time error from happening again by writing a code that validates the input data before saving them into the database.
15. Save the changes you made by clicking “Save” button from the toolbar or pressing “Ctrl S” from the keyboard.

However, it is wise to scan all protected files to ensure that there are not multiple issues.
4. Monitor the command prompt window. In some, but not all cases, you may be prompted to insert your Windows install CD in order to complete the repair. If this happens to you, simply insert the CD into your drive and press the 'Retry' button.
5. Close the command prompt once the file checker has finished. You now need to set your computer to boot back up normally. How to Fix Windows Internal Error 2337

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 Off

How to Fix Windows Internal Error 2337
1. Download .NET Framework. The most common cause of this error is an issue with the .NET Framework. Obtain the most recent version of the software (version 3.5) from Microsoft's website and save it to your computer.
2. Install .NET Framework. Locate the dotNetFx35setup.exe file you downloaded in the previous step. Double click the icon to launch the program and begin installation. Follow the instructions provided by the program and do not change any of the default options.

3. Restart your computer. After the .NET Framework installation completes, you must restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Click the 'Start' button, select 'Shut Down,' then choose 'Restart' and click 'OK.'
4. Run the error-causing program. If Internal Error 2337 no longer appears, you have solved the problem and can stop here. If the error message still exists, you need to uninstall the software generating the error.
5. Access the Windows 'Control Panel.' If reinstalling the .NET Framework does not solve the problem, you will need to remove the flawed software. Begin by clicking the 'Start' button. Move your mouse up and place the cursor over the 'Settings' option, then select 'Control Panel' from the sub-menu.
6. Launch the utility used to remove programs. If you use the Windows XP operating system, look for the 'Control Panel' tool called 'Add or Remove Programs.' If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, this tool goes by a different name: 'Programs and Features.' Locate the tool that corresponds to your computer's operating system, then double click on the icon to launch it.
7. Remove the program experiencing the Internal Error 2337. Scroll down the list of programs on your screen until you find the name of the program you want to remove. Right click on the name of the program and choose the 'Uninstall' option. Confirm that you wish to uninstall the software and leave the window open until the removal process completes.
8. Request replacement software from the manufacturer. This step is difficult to outline with certainty because policies and practices vary from one company to another. Generally speaking, contact the company's technical support department by phone or through email and explain your situation. They will most likely require you to return the defective disc before mailing you a replacement. This process typically takes four to six weeks.
9. Install the software from the replacement disc. Follow the directions provided in your software's installation guide. After installing the software and restarting your computer, Internal Error 2337 should no longer appear.

How to Fix Blue Screen of Death on Windows XP

Monday, October 22, 2012 Off

1. When you see a BSOD, look at the third line of text from the top of the screen to determine why your system halted or can't boot up normally. One common reason is an “unmountable boot volume,” which may indicate a problem with your hard disk or the file structure on it. Another common issue is “Page fault in non-paged area,” which may point to corrupted data on your hard drive or failing memory modules. If any specific hardware driver is mentioned, note this as well.
2. Shut down the computer and unplug its power cable from the wall. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to discharge any residual power from the motherboard. Let the system sit for 10 minutes. Minor power surges sometimes cause a BSOD, and letting the circuits discharge for a few minutes may resolve the problem.

3. Plug the power cables back in, and reboot the computer. Tap 'F8' repeatedly until you get to the Windows boot option menu. Select “Safe Mode” and press “Enter.”
4. Log in using an administrator account and password.
5. Uninstall any recently added hardware or software if the BSOD occurred soon thereafter.
6. Click the Windows 'Start' button, select “Run,” type “eventvwr” (without quotation marks here and throughout) and press “Enter.”
7. Click “System” and click the “Source” column header to arrange the items in that category in alphabetical order.
8. Look for any errors or warnings under the source “disk.” If you see any, your hard drive may be failing.
9. Click the Windows 'Start' button, select “Run,” type “cmd” and press “Enter” to bring up a command prompt window.
10. Type 'chkdsk /r' and press “Enter:”
11. Press “Y,” press “Enter,” type “exit” and press 'Enter' to close the window.
12. Reboot your computer and allow the Check Disk utility to run. This Windows utility checks your hard drive for errors and repairs bad sectors and file system errors. This process may take an hour or more.
13. Log in to Windows using an administrator account.
14. Click the Windows 'Start' button, select “Run,” type “eventvwr” and press “Enter.” Click the “Application” log.
15. Click “Time” to arrange the items in chronological order, beginning with the most recent.
16. Double-click the most recent log that lists “Winlogon” as its source. This is your Check Disk report.
17. Review the information in the Description field. If the log notes any bad sectors, consider replacing your hard drive as soon as possible, even if Check Disk was able to repair them. Bad sectors sometimes are symptoms of an impending hard drive failure.

2. Restart the computer. As the computer restarts, you will be prompted to choose a boot method. Select the 'Boot from CD' option. Windows will display a list of options. Choose 'Windows Recovery Console.' The System Recovery Options window will display.

At the Command Prompt, type 'C:' and press 'Enter.' The Command Prompt will change to 'C:\Windows\system32>.' (If the operating system is installed on a drive other than the C drive, substitute the operating system's drive letter in the previous command in place of 'C.')
5. Type 'chkdsk /f' and press 'Enter' at the 'C:\Windows\system32>' prompt to run Chkdsk to repair file system errors. The '/f' switch will cause Chkdsk to fix any file system errors it discovers. Chkdsk will sequentially verify files, indexes and list errors found and will repair the file system in a series of steps. A summary will be presented when the check is complete. The next prompt will be 'C:\Windows\system32>.'
6. Type 'chkdsk /r' and press 'Enter' at the 'C:\Windows\system32>' prompt to run Chkdsk to recover bad hard drive sectors. The '/r' switch directs Chkdsk to attempt to recover any bad sectors found on the hard drive, if possible. 7. Type 'chkdsk' and press 'Enter' at the 'C:\Windows\system32>' prompt to run Chkdsk again to identify a possible hard drive problem. Chkdsk will perform another disk check. When the check is complete, no file system errors should be presented. If file system errors are found again at this point, it indicates that the problem is not with the file system, but with the hard drive itself. If any bad sectors were found in Step 6 and repaired, no bad sectors should be found in this check. If bad sectors are found again, the hard drive is showing signs that it is beginning to fail. Back up data on that hard drive as soon as possible, as the hard drive may be near the end of its life.

How to Clear a Blue Screen Error

Saturday, October 13, 2012 Off

1. Read the screen. The error could be something as simple as a power interruption during shut-down or startup. The screen itself will offer the chance to start Windows normally. This is already selected by default. Try it first by pressing the 'Enter' key on your keyboard. If it works, after Windows loads, shut it down again properly. Allow it to reboot.
2. Try another of the choices on the blue screen. If starting Windows normally doesn't work, try the option to use the last known good configuration. You will need to use the arrows on your keyboard to move the highlight bar to that option. After that choice is highlighted, press your 'Enter' key. If it works and you boot into Windows, shut down and restart the computer normally.

3. Choose to start in safe mode. If the other two choices don't work, use the arrow keys to select the option to start in safe mode. As before, if the computer boots into the selected option, shut down and restart.
4. Take drastic measures. This is chosen last because it will fully reset your computer. This option will restore the computer to its original factory settings and removes all files and programs that you have installed. To use this option, shut off the computer and turn it back on. Press the 'F10' key repeatedly while the computer is attempting to reboot. This triggers an MS DOS-based program that is in every version of Windows. This will restore your computer and eliminate the blue screen error.

Diagnose the 'Unmountable Boot Volume' Error
1. Determine if you have your BIOS settings configured so as to force faster UDMA modes. In this case, you can solve the problem if you restart your computer, enter the BIOS and then load the 'fail-safe' default settings. Next, reboot the computer and the problem will be fixed.
2. Find out if you used the wrong IDE cables. This error can commonly be caused when you swap hard drives and use the wrong IDE cables to connect them. You may experience this error if your computer uses Ultra Direct Memory Access, or the UDMA hard-disk controller, with a standard 40-wire connector cable. In this case, you can fix the problem simply by using the correct IDE cables when using these hard-disk controllers.

3. If none of these possible causes corresponds with your problem, then complete the steps in Section 2.
