1. Press the 'Ctrl' 'Alt' 'Delete' keys to launch 'Task Manager.' Click the 'Processes' tab. Scroll down the list and locate programs that are listed with 'Not Responding' status. Single-click each of them and select 'End Process.'
2. Click the 'Start' menu and select 'All Programs.' Choose 'Windows Update.' Click the option that says 'Check for Updates' on the left pane. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation. Reboot your computer.

3. Click the 'Start' menu and select 'Run.' Type 'MRT' without the quotes and press 'Enter.' This will open 'Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.' Click 'Next' and choose 'Full Scan.' Follow the on-screen instructions to complete scanning and remove any malware that may have entered your computer.
