1. Hold down the 'Ctrl' key and at the same time, press 'R.' The Windows Run dialog box opens.
2. Type 'msconfig' in the box next to 'Open.' Click 'OK.'

3. Click 'Startup.'
4. Uncheck the box next to 'ntvdm.exe.'
5. Restart your computer for this change to take effect.
6. If the problem persists, scan your computer with an antivirus program. Viruses often mask themselves as ntvdm.exe because it is a program created by Microsoft and has top security clearance in Windows.
