How to Remove a Windows Genuine Message

1. Click on the 'Start' menu and select the 'Run' option. This displays the Run window or dialog box. Type 'c:\windows\system32\wgatray.exe /u' into the text field and then click the 'OK' button.
2. Click the 'Start' menu and select the 'Run' option. Type 'regedit' into the text field and then click the 'OK' button. Windows Registry Editor opens.

3. Click the 'Edit' drop-down menu and select the 'Find' option. Type 'wgalogon' into the 'Find What' field and then click the 'Find Next' button.
4. Right-click the WgaLogon folder and select 'Delete' from the context menu. Click the 'File' drop-down menu and select 'Exit' to close the Registry Editor.
5. Click the 'Start' button and then select the 'Search' option. Select the 'All files and folders' option. Type in wgatray.exe into the 'All or part of the file name' field and then click the 'Search' button.
6. Right-click the wgatray.exe file and select 'Delete' from the context menu.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the WGAlogon.dll file.
8. Click the 'Start' button and then go into the Control Panel. Double-click the icon for the Security Center. Click the 'Automatic Updates' option at the bottom of the window.
9. Select the 'Notify me but don't automatically download or install them' option. Click the 'Apply' button to save the change. Click the 'OK' button to close the window.
