1. Quickly write down the stop code contained in the blue-screen error message before your computer completes its memory dump and shuts down.
2. Cross-reference the code against the master list provided by Microsoft in the page linked below in References.

3. Attempt the listed hotfix for your particular blue-screen error, starting with the least complex fix and working your way up until the problem is resolved. For example, if the listed fixes involve clearing the memory or replacing the system processor, try clearing the memory before moving to the extreme step of replacing hardware.
