1. Click 'Start,' 'All Programs' and 'Accessories.' Right-click the 'Command Prompt' icon and select 'Run as administrator.' The Command Prompt opens.
2. Type, without the quotation marks, 'chkdsk /p' into the Command Prompt and press 'Enter.' Windows will scan your computer for disk integrity problems, including Windows\System32\Config\System errors, and repair them. This can take several minutes.

3. Restart your computer.
