Reinstalling Display Drivers
1. Turn your computer off, then power it on. Press 'F8' when the computer powers on. Keep pressing 'F8' until the boot menu appears. On this menu, there will be options to boot Windows normally or in Safe Mode.
2. Select the 'Safe Mode' option from the list to boot the computer in Safe Mode. Click 'Yes' on the Safe Mode window that appears. You are now able to work in Safe Mode.

3. Click on the 'Start' menu and right-click on the 'My Computer' icon. Select the 'Properties' option.
4. Click the 'Hardware' tab in the System Properties window that appears. Select 'Device Manager.' Right-click on the 'Display Adapter' and click 'Uninstall.' Windows will prompt you to reinstall the driver. Select it from its location on your computer. When it is finished reinstalling, Windows will prompt you to restart the computer. Do so. When your computer restarts, it is possible that reinstalling the drivers will have fixed the problem and the blue screen will not appear. If the blue screen does appear, proceed to the next section.
Identifying Corrupt Files
5. Note the name of the file that caused the blue screen. If the blue screen reappears after reinstalling your display drivers, it is because the blue screen crash was caused by a specific file. The new blue screen will display 'The problem seems to be caused by the following file' and then list a file name. Write the name of the file down.
6. Turn your computer off and then on again. Press 'F8' until the boot menu appears. Select 'Safe Mode' from the list.
7. Click on the 'Start' menu and select the 'Search' option. Select the 'All Files and Folders' option in the search window and click 'More Advanced Options.' Check the box next to 'Search Hidden Files and Folders.'
8. Type the file name into the search bar and click the 'Search' button. When the file appears in the search results, right-click it and select 'Open Containing Folder.' This will bring you to the location of the corrupt file on your hard drive. Right-click on the file and select the 'Delete' option. Open the Recycle Bin, find the file you just deleted and right-click on it. Select the 'Delete' option.
9. Restart your computer. Once the corrupt file has been completely deleted, the blue screen crash will not appear, and your computer will boot normally.
