How to Delete 'You May Be a Victim of Software Counterfeiting'

1. Hold down 'CTRL,' 'ALT' and 'DELETE' to load the Windows Task Manager. Find 'wgatray.exe' and click 'End Process.'
2. Restart the computer; then press 'F8' to bring up the boot menu. Choose 'Boot in Safe Mode.' Then press 'Enter.'

3. Click the 'Start' menu, and then choose '(My) Computer,' 'C:,' 'Windows,' 'System32' and locate the 'WgaTray.exe' file. Right-click the file and choose 'Delete.'
4. Delete 'dllcache' from the same open window. Then exit out of the 'C:' window.
5. Click 'Start' and then 'Run' (or hold down 'Windows,' then 'Run' when using a Windows Vista/7 computer system) and type in 'regedit' to launch the registry editor.
6. Select 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,' 'SOFTWARE,' 'Microsoft,' 'WindowsNT,' the current version of the operating system, 'winlogon,' then 'Notify key.' Right-click the 'WgaLogon' file and select 'Delete.'
7. Restart the computer and the counterfeiting window no longer appears on the screen.
