1. Double-click 'Computer' on your desktop to open the folder. You may also select 'Computer' from the Windows Start menu.
2. Right-click the C: drive and select 'Properties' from the context menu.
3. Open the 'Tools' tab of the 'Properties' window.
4. Click 'Check Now' to scan your drive for errors. Select the options: 'Automatically fix file system errors' and 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.' This will automatically repair detected errors.
5. Click 'Start' to begin. Once clicking start, you have the option of immediately restarting the computer and performing the repair, or scheduling the repair to run the next time the computer restarts.
