How to Fix Windows Runtime Error 76

1. Download a Registry repair program to the PC, for example, the RegCure program, the Registry Easy program and the Eusing Free Registry Cleaner program (see the links in Resources). Double-click on the icon of the Registry repair program once it has completely downloaded. Follow the menu commands to install the program onto the PC's hard drive. Restart the PC.
2. Double-click on the icon of the Registry repair program to launch it.

3. Go to 'File' and select 'Drive' from the top of the Registry repair program.
4. Select the hard drive that has the Windows operating system running on it from the list presented on the window that appears In most cases that will be drive 'C'. Click on 'OK' to close the window.
5. Click on the 'My Computer' check box in the left column of the Registry repair program.
6. Right-click on the first file in the right column of the Registry repair program. Select 'Select All' from the drop-down menu.
7. Go to 'Action' at the top of the Registry repair program. Select 'Scan all' from the drop-down menu.
8. Wait as the Registry repair program scans the files for runtime errors, including runtime error 76. Click on 'OK' in the confirmation window that appears when the scanning has been completed.
9. Right-click on the first file in the right column of the Registry repair program. Select 'Select All' from the drop-down menu.
10. Go to 'Action' at the top of the Registry repair program. Select 'Repair' from the drop down menu.
11. Wait as the Registry repair program repairs the registry so that there will no longer be any runtime 76 errors.
12. Click on 'Restart now' in the confirmation window that appears when the repair has been completed. Wait as the Registry repair program quits itself and reboots the PC.
