1. Click 'Start' and then select 'Control Panel.' Next, press 'Performance and Maintenance.'
2. Select 'System Restore.'

3. Select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' and then press 'Next.'
4. Choose a restore point from the available list. The dates of the restore points are in bold. The default selection is the date of the last 'System Checkpoint' or manual restore point.
5. Press 'Next.' When the confirmation screen appears, press 'Next' again.
6. Press 'OK' to confirm the restoration after the computer restarts and you have logged on.
System Restore for Vista
7. Click 'Start' represented by the Windows icon.
8. Go to the 'Start Search' box and type 'systempropertiesprotection'. When finished, press 'Enter.'
9. Go to the System Protection tab and press 'System Restore.'
10. Select 'Choose a different Restore Point' and then press 'Next.'
11. Select the restore point from the available list and then press 'Next.' When the confirmation screen appears, press 'Next' again.
12. Press 'OK' to confirm the restoration after the computer restarts and you have logged on.
