1. In the Windows XP operating system, click the 'My Computer' desktop icon, then select the Properties option listed at the bottom of the pop-up screen. This will call up a screen entitled System Properties with several tabbed options. 2. Click on the tab labeled Advanced (the last tab on the second row). At the bottom right of the Advanced screen is a button labeled Error Reporting.

8. In Action Center, click Change Action Center Settings, then click Problem Reporting Settings.
9. The screen for Problem Reporting Settings offers four options under the heading 'Choose when to check for solutions to problem reports.' The last of these is 'Never check for solutions (not recommended).' If your experience with Windows 7 pop-up boxes is such that you feel comfortable checking this box even though it is not recommended, feel free.
