Access the Recovery Console
1. Insert the Windows XP installation disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive, and restart the computer.
2. Press the 'R' key on the keyboard when the 'Welcome to Windows Setup' window appears.

3. Enter the Administrator account password when prompted, and wait for the Command Prompt to appear.
Run 'Chkdsk'
4. Type 'chkdsk C: /R' in the Command Prompt, and hit the 'Enter' key.
5. Wait as the computer scans and recovers readable information.
6. Reboot the computer. If the problem is fixed, you should not see the blue screen error message during startup.
