1. Click the Windows 'Start' menu, select 'All Programs' and click 'Windows Update.' The update utility will open.
2. Click the 'Check for updates' link. The Windows Update utility checks the official Microsoft website for any files needed on the Windows computer.

3. Click the 'Update Now' button. The Windows Update utility downloads missing files and replaces corrupted files on your computer.
4. Reboot your computer. After any Windows update, you must reboot the computer for changes to take effect.
