1. Click on the 'Start' button and select 'Control Panel.'
2. If you do not see all the 'Control Panel' icons in the right-hand pane, look at the top of the left-hand pane for 'Switch to Classic View' in Windows XP or 'Classic View' in Vista or Windows 7.
3. Double-click on 'Internet Options.'
4. Click on the 'Connections' tab at the top of the 'Internet Options' box.
5. Click on the 'LAN Settings' button.
6. Uncheck the little box to the left of 'Use proxy server.'
7. Click 'OK.'
