1. Restart your computer and press the “F8” key on your keyboard before Windows starts up.
2. Press the “down” arrow key on your keyboard to highlight the “Safe Mode” option. Press the “Enter” key on your keyboard.

3. Select your computer with the arrow keys and then press the “Enter” key. Your computer will then start in Safe mode and you’ll be prompted to log in as a local administrator.
4. Click on the “Start” button, then click “Run.” Enter “cmd.exe” into the “Open” field and then click on the “Open” button.
5. Enter “msiexec /unregister” into the command prompt and press the “Enter” key. Enter “msiexec /regserver” into the command prompt and press the “Enter” key.
6. Type “exit” into the command prompt and press the “Enter” key. The Error 1721 will be fixed and you can remove programs using the 'Add or Remove Programs' feature.

Error 421
1. Access and run the Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator utility. The process used to set up the server will cause the access path to the utility to vary.
2. Locate the 'Connections' icon in the Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator’s left navigation pane. This is for the server that you want to administer. Find the 'Internet Mail Service' icon in the right navigation pane and double click it to open the 'Properties' dialog box.

3. Click the 'Connections' tab, then click the 'Advanced' button. The configuration dialog will open up.
4. Move the number in the 'Max No. of Inbound Connections' higher, until the error is rectified. For example, begin with 100 and if this does not solve the error, continue to go higher until the error is fixed.
5. Close the program dialog boxes to save recent changes.
Error 0X800ccc90/Error 0x800ccc18
6. Open and run Outlook Express and click on the 'Tools' option in the main menu.
7. Choose the 'Accounts' option under the 'Tools' menu.
8. Click on your email account to select it and choose the 'Log on using' option.
9. Click on 'Servers' in the 'Log on using' menu. Select the 'Clear Text' option to rectify this error. You can now log on without any issues.

1. Login as Administrator to Windows. You can also login with any username that has computer admin privileges.
2. Click 'Start' and then 'Run.' Execute these strings in the 'Run' box: 'regsvr32 /i %windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll' (without the parentheses) and then 'regsvr32 %windir%\system32\jscript.dll' again without parentheses. You should see the message 'DllRegisterServer in
succeeded for each DLL registered, so two in total.

3. Log off and then log back on, and check the Search Companion window to ensure that it is now working correctly and isn't displaying blank. If it's still blank, you'll need to repair the search components using a specific Windows INF file.
4. Click 'Start' then 'Run.' Type '%systemroot%\inf' and then click 'OK.' Don't include the parentheses in the string. Now a window will open. In the window, locate the file named 'srchasst.inf,' right-click it, and choose 'Install.' You'll now be prompted to insert the Windows XP CD, so do so and point to the i386 folder on the CD. If you installed Windows XP Service Pack 1,2, or 3 separately after installing Windows XP, point to '%windir%\ServicePackFiles\i386' instead. Search Companion is now reinstalled and should operate correctly.

1. Click 'Start' and select 'Control Panel.' Click 'System and Security' in Windows 7 or 'System and Maintenance' in Vista.
2. Click on 'System' and select 'Advanced system settings' in the left-hand column. Select the 'Advanced' tab and then click on 'Settings' under the 'Performance' section. Select the 'Advanced' tab and click the 'Change' button in the 'Virtual memory' section.

3. Click to remove the check mark next to 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.' Click to highlight the drive that you want to change, which is typically the 'C' drive.
4. Click the radio button next to 'Custom size.' Type the new minimum amount for virtual memory in the 'Initial size' field. This should be 300 megabytes more than the amount of RAM in your computer.
5. Type the new maximum amount for virtual memory in the 'Maximum size' field, which should be three times the amount of memory in the system. Click the 'Set' button and click on 'OK.'

1. Start Windows in Safe Mode. Reboot the computer and begin tapping the 'F8' key until the 'Windows Advanced Options' menu appears. Select 'Safe Mode No Networking' and press 'Enter.'
2. Run any antivirus software you have installed on your computer, followed by antispyware software. Ideally, you should have at least two antispyware programs, as some malicious items are detected by some products but not others.

3. Delete any viruses or spyware your software detected. Reboot. If the error messages disappear, you do not need to proceed further.
4. If the rundll32.exe problem persists, your Windows rundll32.exe file is corrupt. You must perform a Windows Repair Installation.
5. Repair Windows. Reboot the computer with the Windows CD in the CD drive. When prompted, press any key on the keyboard to boot from the CD.
6. Wait for the 'Welcome to Setup' screen, which contains a list of options. Press 'Enter' to select 'Setup Windows XP.' Do not press 'R.'
7. Select the Windows installation you want to repair from the list (C:\WINDOWS 'Microsoft Windows ...'). Press 'R' to enter repair mode and 'F8' to accept the Microsoft licensing agreement.
8. Windows will reinstall the operating system, including the corrupt rundll32.exe file. Your data and other files will not be affected.

1. Open the 'Start' menu.
2. Navigate to 'All Programs,' then 'Accessories,' and finally 'System Tools.'

3. Click on 'System Restore.' This will open the System Restore program.
4. Select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time, and click 'Next.'
5. Find a restore point on a date that fell before the Win32api.dll error began.Select it, and click 'Next.'
6. Click 'Next' again. The process will begin and your computer will restart.

1. There are many ways to repair your registry: from System Restore, to your installation disk. There are also many Registry Cleaners on the Internet that will do this specific task for you.
2. Unfortunately, if you do a Google search for a Registry Cleaner, the first pages are filled with Registry Cleaners that toot they are free, but scam you into buying them after a quick scan of your registry.These programs will show you how many errors there are in your registry and will offer to repair the first 3 or 4 errors. That isn't going to help you.

3. There are a few legitimate FREE registry cleaners. One that is definitely for free is the Eusing Free Registry Cleaner.
4. Go to the Eusing website (in resources). Click on the download tab or any of the Mirror sites. Once it downloads, click Run and install the program. Once the program opens it will ask for a registration code for a donation.If you observe carefully, there is a SKIP tab. If you want to donate you can. If you don't want to donate and get this application for FREE, just click SKIP.
5. Click the blue letters 'Scan your registry' and wait until the scan completes. It will show you anywhere from a few to hundreds of errors. Click 'Repair Registry'. That's it!

Restart Windows
1. Restart your PC.
2. Load the operating system.

3. Reinstall the upgrade of the .NET Framework. You will no longer get the 1935 error message, the cause of which is removed after a restart.
Stop Windows Installer
4. Open the Control Panel.
5. Double-click 'Administrative Tools.'
6. Double-click 'Services.'
7. Right-click 'Windows Installer.'
8. Click 'Stop.' Now you won't receive the 1935 error when you upgrade the .NET Framework.

1. Double-click 'Computer' on your desktop. Right-click the 'C:' drive and select 'Properties.'
2. Open the 'Tools' tab.

3. Click 'Check Now...' beneath the 'Error Checking' header.
4. Place a check on 'Automatically fix file system errors' and 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.'
5. Click 'Start.' You are prompted to restart the computer to begin the Chkdsk scan.

1. Click 'Start' from the System Tray located at the bottom of the desktop, and select 'Control Panel' from the Start Menu.
2. Click the 'Administrative Tools' icon from the Control Panel.

3. Click 'Event Viewer' from the Administrative Tools Window.
4. Click the 'Applications and Services Logs' from the left navigation pane.
5. Click 'Internet Explorer' from within the Applications and Services Logs folder.
6. A list of log errors is listed in the center pane of the Event Viewer.

End System Processes
1. Press the 'Ctrl,' 'Shift' and 'Esc' keys at the same time to start the Task Manager.
2. Click the 'Processes' tab in the Task Manager's window.

3. Select 'keysetup.exe' from the list of the processes and click 'End Process' at the bottom of the window.
4. Repeat Step 3 for 'csrss.exe,' 'emconv.exe' and 'mseidvsrm.exe.'
5. Close the Task Manager.
Unregister DLLs
6. Go to the 'Start' menu, type 'cmd' in the 'Start Search' box and hit 'Enter' to start the command line window.
7. Type 'regsvr32 /u msercvord.dll' in the command line window and press 'Enter' to unregister the DLL.
8. Repeat Step 2 for 'msrucvocd.dll,' 'mstrc32.dll,' 'msvmcaoed.dll,' 'mswunvoce.dll,' 'rgcvt32.dll' and 'mswrnvore.dll.'
9. Close the command line window.
Find and Delete Files
10. Go to the 'Start' menu, type 'keysetup.exe' in the 'Start Search' box and press 'Enter.' Delete all search results.
11. Repeat Step 1 for 'csrss.exe,' 'emconv.exe,' 'mseidvsrm.exe,' 'msercvord.dll,' 'msrucvocd.dll,' 'mstrc32.dll,' 'msvmcaoed.dll,' 'mswunvoce.dll,' 'rgcvt32.dll' and 'mswrnvore.dll.'
12. Restart your computer.

1. Click the 'Start' button from the left-hand side of the Windows task bar at the bottom of the screen. Right-click 'Computer' from the Start menu and choose 'Properties' from the menu.
2. Click the 'Change Product Key' link located at the bottom of the 'Properties' window.

3. Type in your genuine product key in the text box, then press the 'Next' button.
4. Allow Windows a moment to change your product key. You will see a progress window during this process and receive a prompt once it is complete. You may also be prompted to go to the Microsoft website for the final step.
5. Open your website browser and go to the Windows validation website that is listed in the resource section of the article.
6. Click the 'Validate Windows' button on the website to validate your product key. You may need to install a browser plug-in to complete this. Once you have validated your product key, the validation error should not show again.

1. Start the Windows Registry Editor. Click the Windows Start button and select Run. This is normally the second option from the bottom of the menu, just above Shut Down. Type \'Regedt32\' (without the quotation marks) in the dialog box that pops up and click OK.
2. Locate the registry value that requires modification. In the left-hand panel of the Registry Editor, locate the top-level folder named HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and double-click it. Then double-click on SYSTEM, and after that on CurrentControlSet. Next double-click on Control, and then on Session Manager. If you look in the right panel you will now notice the second item from the top named BootExecute. This is the registry entry that needs changing.

3. Change the BootExecute value. Double-click on BootExecute in the right panel of the Registry Editor. The value should read \'autocheck autochk * /r\\DosDevice\\c:\' where \'c:\' is the drive(s) upon which CHKDSK runs. To disable the scheduled CHKDSK, change this value to the following: \'autocheck autochk *\' (without quotation marks) and click OK. Close the Registry Editor. You have successfully disabled CHKDSK.

1. Click 'Start' and click 'All Programs.' Open Windows Media Player.
2. Click the 'Tools' option and click 'Options.'

3. Click the 'Devices' tab. Double-click the letter corresponding to your CD-ROM.
4. Place a check by the 'Use Error Correction' option.

1. Click the 'Start' button and select 'Control Panel.'
2. Click 'Network and Internet Connections,' find 'Network Connections' and then right-click on your network connection (it's usually the first one listed).

3. Look at both the 'General' tab and the 'Networking' tab and find a section called 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).' Click it and then click 'Properties.'
4. Click 'Obtain DNS server address automatically.' Click 'Apply.' 5. Click the green 'Run Now' button on the following page. Open the downloaded file and click 'Run.'
6. Click 'Detect Problems and apply fixes for me.' Microsoft Fix It will diagnose and automatically repair Windows XP for you.

1. First, make sure that you have this error code - Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
2. This Stop message is typically caused by incompatible or faulty hardware or software. IRQL stands for Interrupt Request Level. An IRQL 'defines the hardware priority at which a processor operates at any given time'.

3. When this Stop error message occurs, you can try to resolve the issue by using the Windows Error Reporting tool. This tool is automatically displayed when the error occurs. The Reporting tool sends an error report to Microsoft, and sends a fix or a workaround back to you immediately. Try this fix first and see if it supplies a fix. If not, continue on.
4. This error might occur after installing a faulty device driver, system service, or firmware. So ask yourself, Have I installed any new devices lately? The Stop message may list a driver by name, disable, remove, or roll back the driver to correct the problem. Try to disable or remove the drivers and see if this resolves the issues. If it does, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Sometimes manufacturers know about issues and make fixes.
5. This message can also be caused by failing or defective hardware. If the Stop message points to a category of devices, try removing or replacing the hardware to see if it is the root of the problem.
6. You may get a Stop 0xA message while upgrading to Windows XPl, the problem could be caused by an system service, incompatible driver, virus scanner, or backup. After you have successfully installed Windows XP, you can contact the manufacturer of the hardware to obtain compatible updates.
7. Stop: 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALIn this Stop error message, each parameter is a hexadecimal number that refers to a specific issue:
• Parameter 1 - An address that was referenced incorrectly.
• Parameter 2 - An IRQL that was required to access the memory.
• Parameter 3 - The type of access, where 0 is a read operation and 1 is a write operation.
• Parameter 4 - The address of the instruction that referenced memory in parameter 1.

Disable New Add-ons
1. Click on the 'Start' button, then choose 'Control Panel.'
2. In the left column of the Control Panel, click on 'Classic View.' Find 'Internet Options' and double-click on it.

3. Select the 'Programs' tab, then click on the 'Manage Add-ons' button.
4. Microsoft categorizes the add-ons by type. Locate the add-on you recently installed, and highlight it by clicking it. Right-click, and select 'Disable.'
5. If the problem persists, disable each add-on until the error message no longer appears.
Uninstalling a Program
6. Click on the 'Start' button, then choose 'Control Panel.'
7. In the left column of the Control Panel, click on 'Classic View.' Double-click on 'Programs and Features.'
8. Select the program you recently installed. Click on 'Uninstall' or 'Uninstall/Change.' Confirm your decision to uninstall when prompted.

1. Insert the original Windows XP CD into your computer and restart the PC.
2. Press any key to boot from the CD.

3. Press 'Enter' then 'F8' to begin the installation and accept the licensing agreement.
4. Highlight the letter of the drive upon which you wish to install Windows and press 'Enter.' The 'Asms' file will be copied over along with all other Windows XP installation files.

1. Check whether you are in administrator mode using 'User Accounts' in Control Panel. If not, log out and log in again using an administrator account.
2. Check whether you have the latest version of InstallShield on your computer. If not, download the latest version and install using default settings (see Resources).

3. Download and install a registry cleaning software and try to solve the conflicts and problems in the registry (see Resources).
4. Make sure the disc is not damaged or corrupted if you are using a CD or DVD for installation. Clean the disc with a piece of cloth. If the disc is corrupted, get a new installation disc.
5. Uninstall the previous version of the software completely and restart you system, then try a fresh installation.
6. Find the path for the source files and give the path of these files during the installation using the 'Browse' button.

Disable WGA Message
1. Double click 'My Computer.'
2. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\System32.

3. Rename WgaLogon.dll to WgaLogon.old and rename WgaTray.exe to WgaTray.old.
4. Restart your computer.
Uninstalling WGA Validation
5. Open a command shell with a click on 'Start' and then 'Run.' Type 'cmd' and click 'OK'.
6. Type the following command and press 'Enter':
Regsvr32 %Windir%\system32\LegitCheckControl.dll /u
7. Restart your computer.
8. Open a command shell again with a click on 'Start' and then 'Run.' Type 'cmd' and click 'OK'.

10. Type regedit. The Registry Editor opens.
11. Locate the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\ CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\WgaLogon. Right-click it and click 'Delete'.
12. Locate the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows \CurrentVersion\Uninstall\WgaNotify. Right-click it and click 'Delete'.
13. Restart your computer.

Error 1601 Main Repair Option
1. Power on your computer, and wait for your computer to boot up. Click the 'Start' menu icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Click 'Run.'
2. Type 'msiexec /unreg' into the 'Run' dialog box without quotation marks. Click the 'OK' button to continue.

3. Click the 'Start' button. Then click 'Run' again. Type 'msiexec /regserver' with quotation marks. Click the 'OK' button, and then restart your computer.
Error 1601 Secondary Repair Option
4. Click the 'Start' menu icon. Go go 'Programs,' and click 'Accessories.' Select the 'Command Prompt' program in the drop-down menu.
5. Type 'msiexec /unregister' with quotations into the Command Prompt application, and press the 'Enter' key.
6. Type 'msiexec /unregister' again without quotations into the Command Prompt window, and press the 'Enter' key. Close the Command Prompt window.

Repair OpenOffice.org
1. Open the Windows XP Home Edition Control Panel by clicking the 'Start' menu, then clicking 'Control Panel.'
2. Double-click 'Add or Remove Programs.'

3. Scroll down in the installed programs list until you see 'OpenOffice.org,' click on it, then click 'Change.'
4. Click 'Next' in the OpenOffice.org installation wizard window.
5. Click 'Repair' in the 'Program Maintenance' window, then click 'Next.'
6. Re-install OpenOffice.org by clicking 'Install.'
7. Finish the installation by clicking 'Finish' when prompted.
Upgrade OpenOffice.org
8. Download OpenOffice.org by visiting the official website (See Resources for link,) clicking 'I want to Download OpenOffice.org,' then clicking 'Download Now.' Click 'Save' in your web browser.
9. Open the OpenOffice.org installer by double-clicking on the file you just downloaded on your computer.
10. Begin the file extraction by clicking 'Next' in the 'Thank you for Downloading OpenOffice.org' window.
11. Unpack the OpenOffice.org installer files to your computer. Unpack them to the default directory by clicking 'Unpack.'
12. Begin the installation by clicking 'Next' in the 'Welcome to the Installation Wizard' window.
13. Enter your personal information in the 'Customer Information' screen. Type your user name into the 'User Name' box and your organization's name into the 'Organization' box, then click 'Next.'
14. Choose a setup type. Click 'Next' to perform a complete installation of OpenOffice.org.
15. Install the new version of OpenOffice.org by clicking 'Install.'
16. Complete the installation by clicking 'Finish' when prompted.

1. Restart your computer. Press the 'F8' key repeatedly when you get the following prompt: 'Please select the operating system to start.' This opens a boot options menu. Navigate with your arrow keys to select 'Safe Mode' and press the 'Enter' key.
2. Navigate with your arrow keys to select 'Microsoft Server 2003' and press the 'Enter' key.

3. Click 'Start' and select 'Run.'
4. Type 'regedit' (without the quotes) and press the 'Enter' key. This will launch Windows Registry Editor.
5. Navigate to the following key in the left-hand pane: 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' > 'SYSTEM' > 'CurrentControlSet' > 'Services' > 'lanmanserver' > 'Shares.'
6. Click the 'Registry' menu and select 'Export Registry File.'
7. Type 'Shares_RegKey' (without the quotes) under 'File name.' Click 'Save.' This will backup your registry key.
8. Locate values in the right-hand pane that do not correspond to shared folders. The ones that do will have a path that contains 'E:\NS,' which represents a shared folder.
9. Right-click each of the Values that do not correspond to shared folders and select 'Delete.'
10. Close the Windows Registry Editor. Restart your computer.
