1. Click 'Start,' 'Programs,' 'Accessories,' 'System Tools' and then 'System Restore.'
2. Select 'Restore my computer.'

3. Choose a date prior to the time you started having shutdown issues.
4. Press 'Next' to restore your operating system files to those of the selected functional date.
