1. Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp software. This software will get rid of the files corrupting your copy of Microsoft Office. See the 'Resources' section for a download link.
2. Launch the software from the Start menu and select 'Microsoft Office 2003' from the list of programs and then click 'Remove.' The Microsoft Office 2003 software will be completely removed, including all corrupted or lingering install files.

3. Restart your computer and then insert the Microsoft Office 2003 CD. Run the installation program.
4. Restart your computer again and then reinstall the patches.
