1. Restart your computer to launch the 'Setup' menu.
2. Press 'F7' when you see the following prompt: 'Press F6 if you need to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver.' This will disable the current ACPI HAL installation.

3. Let Windows install the Standard PC HAL. This process may take a few minutes to complete. Once completed, you will be able to install Windows 2000 with no error messages.
