1. Log on to your computer and click on the 'Start' button. Choose the 'Run' option from the menu.
2. Wait for the 'Run' box to open, then type 'INETMGR' in the box and click 'OK.' Click the plus sign next to 'Local Computer.'

3. Click the plus sign next to 'Web Sites,' then the one next to 'Default Web Site.' Right-click on the folder where the installation file is located and choose 'Properties' from the menu.
4. Go to the 'HTTP Headers' tab and look for the 'Enable Content Expiration' option. Clear that check box and click 'OK.'
5. Try to install your program. The Windows Installer program should now run as expected.

1. Disable any antivirus programs running on your PC before attempting to install Windows XP. Note that antivirus software should only be disabled under very specific conditions due to the security risk that this creates. However, antivirus programs can sometimes conflict with the Windows XP setup program and create installation errors.
2. Follow the standard Windows XP installation instructions that came with your Windows XP installation disc and are available on the Microsoft website (link in the Resources section). Ensure that you follow these steps closely, as skipping or modifying an installation step may create installation problems when trying to run Windows XP for the first time.

3. Check that the Windows XP installation CD is clean and not scratched or dirty. A dirty or scratched installation CD is the main cause of most file copy errors encountered while the Windows XP Setup program is running. Clean the installation CD with a soft cloth such as the type used to clean prescription eyeglasses. Reinsert the CD into your PC CD-ROM drive and click the OK button on the Setup screen.
4. Wait 15 minutes if the Windows XP Installation Setup program stalls, freezes, stops responding or turns into a blank black screen. Occasionally, such installation problems occur when the PC processor becomes overloaded with the work of installing the new operating system. After waiting, restart the PC and retry the installation process.
5. Track when the Windows XP Setup program encounters a problem and stops responding. The setup program sometimes goes further into the installation process than the last time that it stopped responding. If this is the case, continue restarting the computer and retrying the installation until the installation finishes.
6. Check that a piece of computer hardware is not conflicting with Windows XP and causing the installation errors. Restart the computer and hold down the F6 key on your keyboard, then press F7 to disable internal hardware. Disconnect any external computer hardware including printers, USB devices and sound cards. Retry the Windows XP installation.
7. Write down any error codes that appear in the Windows XP installation window. Enter the error code into the search box in the Microsoft Help and Support database (link in the Resources section). Search the database for the specific error code and follow any troubleshooting advice that Microsoft suggests for that specific installation issue.

1. Restart the Apple computer. Hold down the “Option” key as the system boots up. The boot drive selector will appear.
2. Insert the Windows XP installation disc. Select the disc from the list of bootable options. Press “Enter” to launch the disc.

3. Press any key to boot into the Windows XP CD, as prompted on-screen. Navigate past the Welcome to Windows Setup screen (press “Enter”) and accept the license agreement (press “F8”).
4. Select the Boot Camp partition containing the Windows XP installation (C: drive). Press “R” to begin a repair installation.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair of Windows XP on your Boot Camp partition.

1. Click the 'Start' button on your PC's desktop, and click 'Control Panel' from the pop-up menu.
2. Select the 'Add or Remove Programs' link in the Control Panel window in Windows XP, or select the 'Uninstall a program' link underneath the 'Programs' section of the Control Panel window in Windows 7 or Vista.

3. Select 'iTunes' in the Add or Remove Programs window, and click the 'Remove' button. Repeat this step for 'Bonjour,' 'QuickTime' and 'Apple Mobile Device' in the Add or Remove Programs window. For Windows 7 or Vista, select the program you wish to remove and click the 'Uninstall' button at the top of the program window.
4. Go to the Apple website (see Resources). Select the 'iTunes' tab, and click the 'Free Download' button.
5. Enter your email address, and click the 'Download Now' button. Click the 'Run' button on the pop-up box, and click the 'Run' button in the Security Warning window.
6. Click 'Next' in the iTunes QuickTime Installer window, and follow the on-screen installation instructions to complete the reinstallation.

1. Run your computer’s ScanDisk to check your hard drive for existing errors. Do this by going to “My Computer” and right-clicking on the specific drive icon. Select the “Properties” and locate the “Tools” tab. Click on the “Check Now” option. This will help you correct the inconsistencies within your computer’s file system. Go to your desktop and launch the command window through your Start button if you can’t access your ScanDisk after doing the first suggested step. Type “cmd” in the search box, and type “chkdsk /f' in the next window before pressing 'Enter.'
2. Clean your disk to enhance the drive’s reading ability. Use your lint-free cloth whenever needed in order to avoid the build-up of residue on your CD or DVD. Apply short strokes while wiping between the edge and the center, while avoiding circular motions. Your drive reads your CDs and DVDs in circular motion and wiping them in the same manner can cause scratches that will make them unreadable.

3. Use a commercial liquid scratch remover to clean the label. Keep the disk on a hard and sturdy surface and wipe the solution firmly, using fast, straight motions for at least 30 seconds. Use soft cloth to wipe the remover on the CD, and let it dry for at least two to three hours.
4. Replace your drive’s cable by unplugging the power cord and opening the PC on your table. Locate the SATA or IDE cable, depending on the specific type of drive you use. Replace the cable with a new one before you turn on your computer to check existing errors. CRC errors may be caused by a faulty cable, since the data may not be properly transmitted.

1. Click 'Start' and 'My Computer.'
2. Right-click the disk you want to check and click 'Properties.'

3. Click the 'Tools' tab at the top of the 'Properties' window.
4. Click 'Check Now.'
5. Click the 'Automatically Fix File System Errors' and 'Scan For and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors' check boxes. The disk check is performed in read-only mode and doesn't fix problems unless these check boxes are checked.
6. Click 'Start.'
7. Click 'Yes' when asked if you want to check the disk at the next startup.
8. Restart your computer by clicking 'Start,' 'Turn Off Computer' and 'Restart.'

1. Verify that the Internet connection is active and working correctly. Check one of your favorite websites with your web browser to see if you are still connected. See if your browser says that it's working offline. Contact your Internet service provider to fix the connection problem if you are working offline.
2. Contact your ISP and request the correct settings for your email server. Verify the POP3 or IMAP settings in Eudora. Click on 'Tools,' select 'Options.' Check your settings for login name, mail server (incoming) and for the SMTP (outgoing) server. These must be correct. Even a simple typo will cause the error.

3. Use built-in operating system networking tools. There is a valuable network tool called 'ping.' This software tool sends a small message to another computer and sees if a response is sent back. Click 'Start,' select 'Run,' type 'cmd' and click 'OK.' Ping the IMAP server or POP3 server provided by your ISP to verify that your mail server is available. For example, you would type at the command prompt 'ping pop.yourmailserver.com.'
4. Disable your anti-virus software and test your email send/receive option. If you are able to receive messages, contact the virus scanner manufacturer and get instructions to add an exception for Eudora.
5. Check your firewall. Verify that your firewall is not blocking the 'ports' used by Eudora. Windows Firewall is often configured to block commonly used email ports to prevent malware from infecting your computer. Microsoft provides a guide for determining if your firewall is blocking the ports your Internet applications like Eudora need to operate.

Removing Windows Genuine Advantage From the Registry
1. Click on the 'Start' button and then the 'Run' icon.
2. Type 'regedit' without the quotation marks in the 'Run' text field and click 'OK.' Your register editor program will now display.

3. Navigate to the following registry file: 'My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify.' You can find that key by first clicking on 'My Computer,' then 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,' then the 'Software' folder, followed by the 'Microsoft' folder, which brings you to the 'Windows NT' folder, then the 'Current Version' folder, followed by 'WinLogon' and finally the 'Notify' folder.
4. Find the 'WgaLogon' folder inside the 'Notify' folder and right-click on it. Choose the 'Delete' option and left-click on it. You have now removed the program files from the registry.
5. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect. The program should now be removed from your registry.

1. Reboot the computer. Press 'F8' at the boot screen and wait for the advanced boot options to load.
2. Load the 'Safe mode with Networking' option.

3. Navigate to the DLL Error website and download the mcshield.dll file. Save it to your desktop and unzip the file.
4. Press the Windows key, and open the 'My Computer' or 'Computer' folder.
5. Click on the 'C' drive, then 'Windows', and last 'System32.'
6. Drag the mcshield.dll from the desktop to the System32 folder. Choose 'Yes' to replace the old, damaged file.

1. Launch IE7 by double-clicking the IE7 icon on your desktop.
2. Open the Internet Options application window. Click the 'Tools' icon in the top menu bar (it contains the word 'Tools' next to an image of a gear). Highlight and click on 'Internet Options.'

3. Open the 'Advanced' detail panel in the Internet Options application window by clicking the 'Advanced' tab in the top menu bar of Internet Options.
4. Scroll down until you locate the 'Security' settings.
5. Turn off certificate checking. Use your cursor to uncheck the box next to 'Warn about certificate address mismatch.'
6. Click 'Apply' to save your settings. Click 'OK' to exit. Restart IE7 for your changes to take effect.
