1. Honestly, by this point you do not need a Virus protection as you can not enter the windows operating system. I have repaired many computers with this situation and trust me, it is quite simple.

When you turn on your computer, make sure that the fan in running in the very beginning. If it is a virus that attacked your computer, your fan will continue running without anything on the screen. Your fan is located in the back of the computer. That is where the power supply is at.

3. If your fan is still running, you must reinstall your windows operating system. Please note, do not do this until you read my next article, 'How to save your files from an unworking PC'.

If your fan is not running, then this is good news for now. You must turn off all the power from your computer. I recommend you unplug the power cord behind the PC. You are going to have to open your PC

The other reason your computer might be turning off is because the computer is over heating. The CPU is not getting a lot of air flow, when you turn on the computer, and when it goes into the operating system, the PC temperature goes up high, that's why computers need fans. But what is causing the PC to over heat? Well, its DUST!!!

Its time for a PC clean up. Get your paper towel and q-tips. Have your magnetic strip handy, or if you don't have a magnetic strip, touch the power supply to ground your self from any electro magnetic shock.

Get your q-tips and clean the Dust off your CPU fan. The air is not going through to the CPU, that's why the computer shuts it self down, so that the computer would not catch on fire. Clean every hole on the computer case, make sure its clear for air to enter. Your CPU fan should look like the picture.
8. Clean all dust off of the computer case. Once you are done, close the computer and plug everything back in. Start your PC is it should load up.
9.

If non of this worked, you must open the computer case again and make sure all the Divers are plug in securely. Many times a technician installs a new drive or RAM into your system and it wasn't properly installed. Your computer will not start. Make sure the RAMs are nicely secured in the PCI slot. Make sure the 2 white side handles are inserted correctly on the ram as shown on the picture. Close your case and start your computer. That should work.

If that did not work, it may be your RAM or Motherboard. You must go buy a new motherboard or Ram. I suggest you take it to a technician to install the motherboard, but if you know how to install a new one, good for your. Remember to back up your data. Very Important.

Clean CD or DVD
1. Examine the silver side (mirror like) of the CD or DVD in a well-lighted area. View the CD or DVD at an angle to locate any scratches, filth or damage on the surface.
2. Clean the CD or DVD with a CD-ROM cleaning kit, according to Microsoft support. Microsoft also recommends using a soft, lint-free cloth and wiping the CD or DVD from the center of the disk outward.

3. Insert your CD or DVD into a secondary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. If you encounter 'Error 1305' again, Microsoft support recommends cleaning the disk by using a cloth dampened with warm water. Dry the CD or DVD thoroughly before testing it again in your secondary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
4. Replace the CD or DVD if it does not work with the secondary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. You can also contact a professional to have your damaged CD or DVD restored.
5. If the CD or DVD works in your secondary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, check your primary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive to see whether any critical files are missing or require updates. If your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive is updated with all the proper software, restart your computer with a 'Clean Boot.'

6. Click the 'Start' button, then click the 'Run' option. Alternatively, press the 'Windows' key and type 'R.'
7. Type in 'msconfig' in the 'Open' field box, then click on the 'OK' button with your cursor. This will pop up the 'System Configuration Utility' window.
8. Click on the 'General' tab, then click on the 'Selective Startup' option below. Deselect the 'Process SYSTEM.INI file,' 'Process WIN.INI file' and 'Load Startup Items' boxes.
9. Click on the 'Services' tab and find the 'Hide All Microsoft Services' box (near the bottom of the window) and select it with your cursor.
10. Click on the 'Disable All' button, then click the 'OK' button. A new window will appear asking you to restart the computer. Click the 'Restart' button to restart your computer with a clean boot, which will prevent other programs from interfering with your computer reading the CD or DVD.

11. Insert a functioning CD or DVD into your primary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
12. If you encounter 'Error 1305' again, you will need to clean your primary CD or DVD drive by using a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive cleaning disc (available at electronics and computer stores).
13. Replace your primary CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive if it is unable to read the functional CD or DVD.

System File Checker
1. Turn on the computer. Begin pressing the “F8” key as soon as the BIOS Setup screen disappears. This opens an Advanced Boot Options screen.
2. Press the down-arrow key to select 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt' and press “Enter.”

3. Type “CD C:\” in the Command Prompt and press “Enter.” This changes the Command Prompt’s workspace to the root directory.
4. Type “SFC /Scanfile=C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe” at the prompt and press “Enter.” This executes the System File Checker process.
5. Type “Exit” to close the prompt and reboot if you receive a message stating Windows successfully found and repaired a corrupt file. However, if the message states Windows could not find any integrity violations, rename the Userinit.exe file to force System File Checker to replace it.
Rename and Replace
6. Type the following command in the prompt:Rename C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe “Userinit.old”
7. Press the “Enter” key to issue the command. This renames the current Userinit executable.
8. Type “SFC /Scanfile=C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe” and press “Enter.” The System File Checker sees that the Userinit.exe file is no longer in the System32 directory and rebuilds a new copy for you.
9. Type “Exit” and press “Enter” to close the Command Prompt, then boot into Windows. Once you have successfully logged in without any further Userinit-related errors, you may delete the old file.
Delete the Old File
10. Click “Start.” Type “CMD” in the Search line and press “Enter.”
11. Right-click “CMD.exe” and click “Run as Administrator” to open an elevated prompt.
12. Type “Del C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.old” and press “Enter.” This removes the old file.

1. Click the 'Start' button and click 'Control Panel.'
2. Click 'Programs and Features' and click 'Visual Studio 2010' software program.

3. Click 'Next' in the 'Setup' wizard, click 'Repair or Reinstall' and follow the prompts to complete the repair.

Repairing System32 in Windows XP
1. If possible, do an Automated System Recovery by clicking on 'Start' and running the mouse pointer over 'All Programs,' 'Accessories' and 'System Tools' and clicking on 'Backup.' If 'Backup' is not on the 'System Tools' list, you probably can't do an automated system recovery.
2. When the backup utility starts, click on 'Advanced Mode.'

3. Click on 'Tools' and then 'ASR Wizard.'
4. Follow the instructions in the ASR Wizard.
5. Save the backup to a floppy disk or a CD-ROM.
6. Insert the Windows XP installation disk into the disk drive. Close all windows and restart your computer.
7. Boot the computer from the Windows XP installation disk.
8. Press 'F2' at the text section of 'Setup' and insert your Automated System Recovery floppy disk or CD-ROM (only if you have two CD drives on your computer).
9. Follow the directions and see if this works to restore your computer. If it doesn't work, move on to Step 10.
10. Restart the computer again and press 'R' once setup starts to get into the Recovery Console.
11. Wait to be prompted to log in as an administrator. If you don't have an administrative password, press 'Enter' to bypass the prompt.
12. Type the following lines of information into the Recovery Console command screen and press 'Enter' after each line:md tmp

13. Type 'Exit' and press 'Enter' to restart your computer. If you've previously done an NTBackup or a System State Backup, this should be the final step. If you haven't, continue to Step 14.
14. During the restart, press 'F8' to start the computer in Safe Mode.
15. Start Windows Explorer and click on 'Tools.'
16. Click on 'Folder Options.'
17. Click on 'View.'
18. Click on 'Show hidden files and folders' and uncheck the box next to 'Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).'
19. When you are prompted to show the files, click on 'Yes.'
20. Click on the drive that contains the Windows XP installation, and a list of folders will appear.
21. Open the 'System Volume Information' folder.
22. Open one of the previously created System Restore folders inside the System Volume Information folder by clicking on 'View' and 'Details' to see when a System Restore folder was created, and opening a folder that isn't current.
23. Open a Snapshot folder and copy these files to the 'C:\Windows\Tmp' folder:_REGISTRY_USER_.DEFAULT

24. Rename the files in the Snapshot folder as:Rename _REGISTRY_USER_.DEFAULT to DEFAULT

Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SOFTWARE to SOFTWARE
Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SYSTEM to SYSTEM
Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SAM to SAMThis will allow you to access these files and replace the old faulty System32 files when you run the Recovery Console in the next steps.
25. Close all windows and restart the computer.
Setting a Working Restore Point
26. After restarting your computer, press 'R' at the start of Setup to go into the Recovery Console.
27. 28. Type 'Exit' to restart your computer.
29. Log in and click on 'Start.' Run the mouse pointer over 'All Programs,' 'Accessories' and 'System Tools,' and click on 'System Restore.'
30. Restore the computer to a previous Restore Point; after your computer restarts and the changes take effect, your System32 problems will hopefully be fixed.

1. Log in to the Windows computer.
2. Open a web browser window and navigate to Microsoft's 0x80070005 error message page (see Resources).

3. Download and run the hotfix.
4. Restart the computer once the hotfix has finished installing.

1. Insert your Windows 7 installation disc into your computer's disc drive.
2. Start the computer and wait for it to boot from the CD.

3. Click on the language setting that you want to use and then click on the 'Next' button.
4. Click 'Repair your computer' from the menu that appears.
5. Choose the Windows 7 operating system from the menu and then click 'Next.'
6. Click on the 'Memory Diagnostic Tool' from the menu and wait for it to scan your system.
7. Reboot your computer to clear the error.

1. Open and run the Internet Explorer browser program by double clicking on its desktop icon.
2. Click on the 'Tools' option, which is located on the top Internet Explore menu task bar.

3. Click on the 'Internet Options' selection in the drop-down menu.
4. Choose the 'Advanced' tab, located on the top of the 'Internet Options' dialogue box.
5. Scroll through the 'Settings' category list. Remove the check mark from the 'Disable Script Debugging' box and from the 'Display a Notification About Every Script Error' box.
6. Click the 'Apply' button, which is found on the bottom of the box.
7. Click on the 'OK' button and close the 'Internet Options' dialogue box to initiate the changes.

1. Press the 'Windows' and 'R' keys on the keyboard simultaneously. This opens a 'Run' dialog at the bottom-corner of your screen.
2. Type 'Devmgmt.msc' in the 'Run' dialog and click the 'OK' button. This loads the 'Device Manager' in a new window on your screen.

3. Double-click 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' to expand the list of audio devices.
4. Right-click 'IDT High Definition Audio CODEC' and click 'Update Driver Software.' This opens a 'How do you want to search...?' dialog window.
5. Double-click 'Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.' Your computer will first search the Windows directory on your hard drive for a valid driver. If a valid driver is not found on your hard drive, the computer will automatically connect with the Microsoft Update server to download a compatible driver.
6. Click the 'Close' button when notified Windows finished updating your hardware and restart your computer.

1. Click 'Start' and open the 'Control Panel.'
2. Click 'Administrative Tools' and click 'Services.'

3. Double-click 'IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.' Select 'Disabled' from the drop-down menu and press 'Apply.'
4. Attempt to burn the CD again, but select a lower-than-maximum burning speed.
