Change Permissions
1. Open the folder containing the .exe of the program you are trying to install.
2. Right click on the file and select 'Properties.' This will bring up a new window.

3. Select the 'Security' tab along the top row. The screen will switch to a list of the users on the computer. Click the 'Edit' button to change permissions.
4. Highlight the names of the users on the computer that you want to change the settings for. Click the box in the 'Allow' column of the lower screen next to the row that says 'Full Control.' This will provide full control of that file to those you gave permission to.
5. Press 'Ok' to be taken back to the Security screen. Press 'Ok' again to close that screen.
6. Run the program.
Boot into SafeMode
7. Restart your computer and begin pressing F8 immediately. This will bring up a black screen that presents several boot choices. Choose 'SafeMode.' Make sure to log in as the system administrator when prompted.
8. Right click the .exe file from the program that you are trying to install and select 'Properties.'
9. Select the 'Security' tab and click 'Edit' to change the permissions.
10. Select the name(s) of the users you want to adjust the permissions for and check the 'Allow' box next to the 'Full Control' category.
11. Click 'OK' to return to the Security screen and press 'OK' again to close the properties window.Install the program and restart the computer back into regular mode when finished.

1. Launch you Internet Explorer 8 browser and click on the 'Tools' menu displayed on the upper right side of the IE 8 screen. Select the 'Internet Options' preference by clicking on it.
2. Locate the 'Browsing History' section displayed in the Internet Options box and click on the tab that says 'Delete.' A window titled 'Delete Browsing History' will then pop up. Click to select the check boxes displayed next to the options that say 'Temporary Internet Files,' 'History,' 'Preserve Favorites website data,' 'Form Data,' 'Cookies' and 'InPrivate Filtering data.' Once you have selected all the options, click on the 'Delete' tab on the bottom region of the window.

3. Restart your Internet Explorer 8 website and visit the site that was previously displaying the error.

CCleaner
1. Download and install CCleaner (see Resources).
2. Launch CCleaner.

3. Click the 'Registry' button.
4. Click 'Scan for Issues.' CCleaner will search for errors and other problems in the registry.
5. Click 'Fix Selected Issues.'
6. Click 'Yes' to save the registry backup to 'C:\Program Files\CCleaner' before the registry changes are made. Once the backup is saved, CCleaner will correct registry errors.
Glary Utilities
7. Download and install Glary Utilities (see Resources).
8. Launch Glary Utilities.
9. Enable 'Registry Cleaner' and any other modules you wish to use in your scan.
10. Click 'Scan for Issues.'
11. Click 'Repair Problems' once the scan is complete to resolve registry errors.
EasyCleaner
12. Download and install EasyCleaner (see Resources).
13. Launch EasyCleaner.
14. Click 'Registry.'
15. Click 'Find.'
16. Click 'Save' to back up your registry.
17. Click 'Delete All' to remove the registry errors identified by EasyCleaner.

Run Registry Repair 2.0
1. Visit the Regsofts website. Click “Download Now” to install Registry Repair 2.0.
2. Run the “RegpairSetup.exe” setup file. Click “Next” at the prompts and agree to the terms of Registry Repair 2.0. Click “Finish” to open the application.

3. Click “Start Scan” to find DLL errors on your system. Place a check by “Non-existent Shared Dlls” once the scan completes. Click “Fix Errors” to repair the DLL errors.
Run RegSeeker 1.55
4. Navigate the Regsofts website. Click “Download and use for free” to install RegSeeker 1.55.
5. Run the “RegSeejer.zip” setup file. Click “Next” at the prompts. Agree to the terms of RegSeeker 1.55, then click “Finish” to open the tool.
6. Click “Clean the Registry.” Allow the scan to detect and repair DLL registry issues. Reboot your system once the scan is complete.
Run ACleaner 3.5
7. Visit the Regsofts website. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click “Download and use for free” to install ACleaner 3.5.
8. Save and run the “ACSetup” setup file. Click “Next” at the prompts, and agree to the terms of ACleaner.
9. Open the software and select “Registry.” Choose the Scan Registry option. Select the 'fix errors' option once the scan is complete.

1. Click on the 'Start' menu in the bottom left-hand corner and click 'Run.' Type in 'cmd' and press 'Enter' on your keyboard. This will open a black command prompt box.
2. Type in 'chkdsk /f' and press 'Enter.' If you receive a message saying the disk will be checked the next time the system starts, press 'Y' and then 'Enter.' Restart your computer by closing the command prompt box and selecting 'Shut Down' from the Start menu.

3. Wait for the disk scan to reach 100 per cent. This may take awhile. When it completes, your drive errors may be fixed.
4. Avoid future problems with this type of error by replacing the file that caused the problem. For example, if you got the error when using a text document, open the document and copy all the text (press 'Ctrl' and 'A' at the same time and then 'Ctrl' and 'C' at the same time). Create a new text document and paste the text in by pressing 'Ctrl' and 'V' simultaneously. Save the new file, and delete the old document.

1. Find the Vista installation disk and insert it into the computer's disk drive. Reboot the computer.
2. Press any key to boot the computer from the installation CD when the prompt appears.

3. Select the language settings for Vista, then click the 'Next' button.
4. Select the 'Repair your computer' option, then choose to repair Vista.
5. Choose the 'Startup Repair' option from the System Recovery Options menu that appears. You may be asked to make choices during the Startup Repair process. The computer may reboot to allow some repairs to take effect.
6. Open an Internet browser and go to Microsoft's official Windows Update page. Select the 'Express' option and wait while the list of updates is compiled. It may take a few minutes.
7. Look over the list of updates that appears and select to download them.

1. Insert your flash drive into the computer and wait until the readiness (if any) light stops flashing. If a message pops up on the screen asking if you want to format the drive---click 'no.'
2. Left click on the 'Start' button, then left click on 'My Computer' or 'Computer.' You should see the icon for your flash drive listed. If you don't, skip to step 5. Right click on the drive and choose 'Properties.'

3. A window will open up showing the properties of your flash drive. You may also see a pie chart icon indicating its full/empty status. Click on the tab at the top of this window that says 'Tools.'
4. Click the 'Check Now' button under 'Error Checking' to start Windows error checking the drive. You will get a window that pops up asking if you want Windows to fix any errors that are found, check that box as well as the box for 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors,' then click 'Start.' If Windows complains of being unable to read the drive or wants to format it first, click 'No.'
5. If the steps in Windows failed, your final option is to use the command structure beneath Windows to try to fix the drive manually. Click the 'Start' button then type 'cmd' in the search or run area to open up a command prompt.
6. Browse to your flash drive's directory by typing in its drive letter followed by a colon: for example 'k:' If you do not know your drive's letter, experiment to find it starting with the letter 'E' if you have a single CD-ROM in your computer (which is usually 'D'). Go down the alphabet until you get the message: 'The System Cannot Find the Drive Specified.' The last drive letter you got is probably your flash drive.
7. Type in 'chkdsk' at the command prompt and wait for the check to complete (it should be fairly quick). If check disk finds errors, it will offer to fix them. Choose 'y' at the command prompt and it will repair the drive.

1. Click the Start menu and type 'run' (without the quotes) in the search bar that appears at the very bottom of the Start menu. Press the 'Enter' key to launch the 'Run...' tool.
2. Type (without the quotes) 'regedit' and press the 'Enter' key. This will launch Windows Registry Editor.

3. Open 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,' then 'SOFTWARE,' 'Microsoft,' 'Windows NT' and 'Current Version.'
4. Locate 'AeDebug' in the right pane. Double-click and type '0' under 'Value Data.'
5. Close Windows Registry Editor. Reboot your computer.

1. Click 'Start,' then enter 'dcomcnfg' into the 'Run' or 'Search' box and press the 'Enter' key. Wait for the Windows to configure and launch the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Component Services Snap-In utility.
2. Click 'Component Services' in the left window pane when the MMC window appears. Navigate to 'Computers' > 'My Computer' > 'DCOM Config' > 'Microsoft Windows Remote Shell Host.'

3. Right-click the 'Microsoft Windows Remote Shell Host' value link, then click 'Properties' on the pop-up menu.
4. Click the 'Security' tab under the 'Launch and Activation Permissions' label, then click 'Customize.'
5. Click the 'Edit' button, then assign the following permissions in the window:'Everyone -- Local Launch and Local Activation''Network Service, System, Administrators Group, Interactive --Local Launch, Remote Launch, Local Activation and Remote Activation.' (Enable all of the check boxes.)
6. Close the MMC snap-in window, then restart the computer.

1. Click 'Start' and type 'Services.Msc.' Press 'Enter' on your keyboard to launch the Services applet. Alternatively, click 'Start,' then launch the 'Control Panel.' Click the 'Administrative Tools' applet and launch the 'Services' entry listed.
2. Browse for the 'Network DDE Service' as well as the 'Network DDE DSDM Service.' Double-click each item to launch its properties menu.

3. Click 'Start' under the 'Service Status' field to initialize the service in question. If either Network DDE service was entirely disabled, click the 'Startup Type' menu and select 'Automatic' or 'Manual.' The 'Automatic' option ensures the service is active at all times, while the latter option only functions as any given program may need it.
4. Click 'OK' for all settings to take place. Exit the Services applet by clicking the 'File' menu, followed by 'Exit.'
